HOW TO DO A ROUND OFF

Round-off is a very important skill in gymnastics. It is an entry skill to most tumbling pass. REQUIREMENTS: a cartwheel, R.O, is simply a two- leg finish cartwheel. STEP 1:
Practice running cartweel. STEP 2: Take few tuning steps with a hurdle, place your hands in a cartwheel position and try to bring your both legs together on the air to land together ( unlike the cartwheel that requires one leg landing after the other) STEP 3: Try step 2 above, but this time try to place your both hands beside each other instead of one after the other and push through your shoulders. STEP 4: Try to bring you both legs together on the air early enough for a strong snap down. STEP 5: Finish in a nice lounge position. Drills: Handstand snap down. Learn how to hurdle Press ups for upper body strength. This will help you get your body and leg alignment early enough for the snap down. If you rebound after your round off, try to land on the spot with no steps, if you have to move, take a jump rather than a step. (a jump rebound is a drill to connection your round - off to a BHS or back tuck). If, you can't do it just keep trying your hardest and it will.
