HOW TO DO A GYMNASTICS BACK KICKOVER



A back kickover is a basic skill in gymnastics.

REQUIREMENTS: handstands, backbend, and split.

STEP 1: Go into a backbend.
STEP 2: kick over with your dominant leg
(you should have a good shoulder blocking and upper body strength. So, do lots of press ups and handstand press ups with a wall support).
STEP 3: Kick into a handstand split and guide our dominat leg and the other leg nicely to the floor.
STEP 4: Finsh in a nice lounge position.
NB: learning a back kickover is the easiest and next step to learning a Back. Walkover. If you find this skill more challenging, a stacked mat or wall can be of good assistance. Try to keep your tight body and straight legs throughout the whole process. Goodluck!
