Most Successful Russian Gymnasts On Balance Beam

Only three Russian gymnasts succeeded in winning more than one medal at the top three major international competitions 'Olympics, Worlds and European championships'.

Strangely, all three gymnasts had the same color and number of medals on the apparatus.

Aliya Mustafina

In her first senior year (2010), Mustafina won a silver medal on balance beam at European championships but a fall at Worlds' event final prevented her from medalling.

She missed most of the 2011 season due to ACL tear and did not qualify to beam final either at Europeans or Olympics in 2012. The following year, she became the World champion on the event.

At 2014 European and World championships, she won a bronze medal. Mustafina is four times Olympic medalist.

Medals:
Gold: 2013 Worlds
Silver: 2010 Europeans
Bronze: 2014 Worlds and Europeans

Svetlana Khorkina

Khorkina was famous for being an exceptional uneven bars worker as well as an amazing all arounder. Nevertheless, she has managed to win three medals at European championships on balance beam, as well as a silver at 1997 Worlds.

She is seven times Olympic medalist.

Medals:
Gold: 2000 Europeans
Silver: 2002 Europeans, 1997 Worlds
Bronze: 2004 Europeans

Ludmilla Ezhova

Ezhova is one of the 'hard to forget' balance beam workers. She has done difficult and unusual acrobatic combinations.

She is the 2002 European  champion and 1998 European bronze medalist on beam. She is also two time World medalist on the apparatus.

Ezhova was part of the 2004 and 2008 Russian Olympic teams.
