Aliya Mustafina Will Show No Upgrades At 2015 European Games

Olympic uneven bars champion Aliya
Mustafina of Russia has not competed
since last year in order to recover from
her back injuries. She plans to have Baku as her first major international
competition in 2015 season.

"It won't be possible to upgrade
essentially for Baku. Out of 5 month of
our co-work 3 month we spent to solve
all the health problems. 2 month were
left and we have been trying to get
together before the competition" Sergei
Starkin, Aliya's personal coach,
told rsport.ru in an interview translated
by Dolly-z .
Nevertheless, Aliya is planning to
demonstrate new difficult routines at the
World championships later this year.
"Aliya is an experienced gymnast. But
skipping the half of a year of
competitions is a serious loss. Therefore
it won't be right not to compete before
Worlds at all. But at the same time Baku
Games are not just another competition
for us - we prepare for them as we
always do, we set maximum goals."
The first edition of the European games
is scheduled to be held in Baku,
Azerbaijan, from 12 to 28 June.
Beside Aliya, Teammate and two time
Olympic silver medalist Viktoria Komova
is scheduled to compete there. The third
gymnast hasn't been selected yet.
