Rodionenko Announces Four Gymnasts Most Likely to Compete at Rio Olympics 2016- WAG

Last week Russian head coach Valentina Rodionenko spoke to the press, announcing her decision to select four young women as the the 2016 Olympic Russian Team and they include:
·         Vault champion, Maria Paseka,
·         Floor silver medalist, Ksenia Afanasyeva,
·         Uneven bars champion,Viktoria Komova, and off course
·         Aliya Mustafina ……………with an open fifth spot

She went further to say that Mustafina and Komova are up for the all-rounds while Paseka for
vaults and team, Afanasyeva for floor and team, Komova for beam and bars and Mustafina for all excluding vault.
It seems she has her plans already laid down but nine months is a long time but can get closer than we expect.  Mustafina is still recovering from injury and should get into the gym by January 6, full training will not commence till February.

Rodionenko strongly believes that Komova is capable of posting high scores on every event. First year senior Seda Tutkhalyan who was the only gymnast to qualify all-round at world has to fight for the fifth place with bars champion Daria Spiridonova.

Tutkhalyn is still young with less international experience and appear not so good at handing pressure. Spiridonova is great on bars but she seen to be a specialist on just that event.
The Russian Team is starting up good and early ready to fight for medals at Rio. They are making efforts including trying to keep the athletes healthy. Actually no country should risk another injury.
